Well todays the day of our new life in the country. Now we have to get ourselves, our belongings and our 2 cats to our new address - on our own.
We collected the van which seemed way to small for the contents of a 3 bed semi, we spent 4 hours loading it like a giant jigsaw puzzle, only to find that yes it was too small and we would also have to load my car with trailer a few times.
Anyway during the 4 hours loading we both managed to collect bruises and swear a lot. I slipped on the door step and managed to fall into the porch in a spectacular fashion, unfortunately the porch was full of furniture causing a huge dent in my upper arm. Hubby managed to bash his knee on the tail lift of the van, He went so quiet I thought he might pass out, then he started swearing and hopping about so I knew he was ok, well he wouldnt walk on it if it was broken.
We loaded up, Hubby drove the van (good for his macho ego) and I drove my car with the trailer. 90 mins later we were unloading at the other end. My Dad came to help but he was weezing quite badly, when I questioned him he dropped the bombshell that he has been diagnosed with another tumor on his right lung and needs an op to remove it and maybe chemo and radiotherapy. Its been 3 years since the tumor was removed on his left lung and we all thought he was in the clear so it took the wind out of me for a minute. Unfortunately time was against us and the van needed to be back for 5.30, it was almost 4pm so we got everything out of the van and hubby set off to take it back. I followed 30 mins later with an empty trailer and a heavy heart, Dad went home with a big hug and a promise to talk soon.
After picking hubby up from the van company we went back to the old house, filled up my car, his car and the trailer. Picked up the 2 cats and posted the keys through the letter box, and left for our new house.
